The porous pizza stone absorbs the moisture, creating a light and crispy base!
Instruction:
- Wash the stone by hand before using it for the first time.
- Preheat the stone in the oven or on the barbecue for 15 minutes. Only use the stone in the oven or on the barbecue. Never use the stone on a hob. The stone must always be preheated; sudden changes in temperature can cause it to crack.
- Place the pizza carefully on the stone. Do not use grease or oil on the stone. When preparing fish or meat on the stone, it is best to use aluminium foil to protect the stone from fats and juices.
Maintenance:
- Leave the stone to cool down sufficiently.
- Remove baked-on residue with a plastic spatula.
- Leave the stone to dry in the air. Make sure it is completely dry before you use it again.
The pizza stone will discolour over time, this is normal and will have no effect on the stone's function.
